Rudy Cohen is the co-founder and CEO of inbolt, a company dedicated to creating a vision layer for industrial robots, facilitating real-time decision-making and seamless integration into various environments. Prior to this, Rudy had an academic background as a Civil Servant and Student at École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay between 2015 and 2019.

Rudy and his co-founders, Albane Dersy and Louis Dumas, initiated Inbolt in 2019 while pursuing an MSc in Entrepreneurship jointly offered by Ecole Polytechnique and HEC Paris. Their primary objective was to enhance the quality of manufactured goods.

Before the inception of Inbolt, Rudy Cohen had an academic journey as a student at L’Ecole Normale Supérieure and L’Ecole Polytechnique in France, specializing in Physics and Numerical Modeling.

Below are highlights of the interview:

Describe who you are as a person, inside and outside of the workplace.

I’m an explorer at heart, whether hiking, traveling to understand cultures, or diving into books. Just as Inbolt values inclusivity and potential, I believe in creating spaces where everyone thrives. Professionally and personally, I value self-reflection over ego, seeing failures as stepping stones to innovation.

What has made you successful? What do you value?

Our fresh perspective became our strength. Since we embarked on Inbolt straight out of our academic pursuits, we approached our challenges without the bias of prior work experience. We engaged in extensive dialogues with professionals in manufacturing and computer vision, seeking to deeply comprehend the issues at hand and the solutions others were exploring. Our tenacity led us to continually refine our technology, undeterred by skeptics who doubted its feasibility.

Which are the major services of the company and how does the company stay ahead in the competition? What value-added services does the company provide?

Our major strength lies in simplicity. Though we introduced groundbreaking real-time technology grounded in computer vision, our clients particularly value the user-friendliness of our product. It can be set up in under 30 minutes by anyone and is equally easy to use. Prior to Inbolt, industries hesitated to utilize vision due to its complexity. We’re transforming that perception, making vision simple and accessible.

What are the most important aspects of a company’s culture? What principles do you believe in and how do you build this culture?

A true company culture is one that’s ingrained in every member of the team. It isn’t just a set of words on a wall, but a belief system that informs every decision and action. At Inbolt, we champion empathy, inclusivity, and unity. We ensure that everyone feels supported and that collaborative success is prioritized over individual accomplishments.

What is the significance of innovative ideas in the company?

Innovation is Inbolt’s lifeblood. In the dynamic world of robotics and automation, fresh ideas keep us ahead. We encourage our team to challenge norms and embrace failure, as it often paves the way to our brightest discoveries.

Give us your opinion on; do organizations rely heavily on individual heroics or team processes?

A truly exceptional organization seamlessly blends individual brilliance with robust team dynamics. While it’s crucial to nurture personal innovative ideas, it’s equally important to have cohesive team processes that allow everyone to contribute meaningfully.

What are your responsibilities as the Co-Founder & CEO of the company? What is the happiest part of your daily routine?

As the CEO, my primary duty is to set the vision and ensure flawless execution by our teams. The highlight of my day is witnessing the relentless innovation of my team, their continuous influx of fresh ideas, and their genuine passion for what they do.

What advice would you give someone going into a leadership position for the first time?

Empathy is paramount. Whether it’s understanding your clients or colleagues, recognizing and valuing the underlying motivations of those around you is crucial to leadership.
